Hoot Hollow Weimaraners are owned by Lou Schnegelberger of West Palm Beach, Florida. Lou obtained her first weimaraner in 1956 from Hawaiian breeder, William W. Y. Lee, and has not been without the company of a gray dog since. Hoot Hollow came into existence in 1973 with a litter of six from which four became AKC bench champions. One of these went on to become a Group and Specialty winner. Hoot Hollow has continued to produce quality weimaraners now with over three dozen bench champions and several obedience titles. This group of proud Hoot Hollow offspring include Top Ten award winners, Futurity winners, Group and Specialty awards, Canadian Best In Show, and most significantly, a National Specialty Best In Show.

Lou’s most favorite philosophical belief about this breed is: "Once you make it successfully through the first two years with a weimaraner, you’ll never be satisfied with any other breed." Forty years later, gray dogs still run through her house.

Foundation brood bitch, Champion Wetobe’s Ballerina Ribbons, C.D., who proudly presented eleven champions, was a legend in her own right. Ribbons champions included Top Ten Winner Ch. Hoot Hollow’s Foxfeather, Ch. Hoot Hollow’s Ruddy Duck and Ch. Hoot Hollow’s Bumper Rabbit. Another well known name in pedigrees today is Ch. Hoot Hollow’s Roy’s Rob Roy, winner of the 1981 Central Futurity and 1982 National Specialty. Rob Roy is a Ruddy Duck grandson out of Ch. Colsidex Standing Ovation and Ch. Mardi’s Gretchen Heer.

More recent award winners are: Ch. Hoot Hollow’s Peace Rose, Ch. Hoot Hollow’s Woodrose and Ch. Hoot Hollow’s Painted Indian. Dam of Peace Rose, Ch. Hoot Hollow’s Gypsy Moth, produced 11 champions, including Ch. Hoot Hollow’s Jack Rabbit, Ch. Hoot Hollow’s Juniper Rabbit, Ch. Hoot Hollow’s Peter Rabbit - BIS, Ch. Hoot Hollow’s Mopsy Rabbit and Ch. Hoot Hollow’s Liberty Rabbit. Ch. Hoot Hollow’s Liberty Rabbit went on to produce 11 champions for Liberty Weimaraners: a granddaughter now resides at Hoot Hollow (Ch. Hoot Hollows Liberty Luv Buny).

Breeding currently ’ is focused more on temperment and health, rather than show champions. Currently Hoot Hollow has a healthy line that produces great personality puppies designed for show homes as well as just plain "family" members.
